On October 1, 2023, The Memphis, TN. Changemakers organizations were honored at the "Stomp City Iconic Awards" this Year. In this award ceremony, those dedicated to curbing gun violence were notably recognized. The event was held at the Cannon Center for the Performing Arts in Memphis, TN.
Several prestigious awards were presented. Lori Swanigan, CEO of The Benefits Solutions Group, an advocacy collective for senior citizens, received the 2023 Humanitarian Award.
NLE Choppa received this Year's "Artist of the Year" award from Shelby County Commissioner Mickell Lowery for his work in changing the lives of youth with a positive impact on Memphis.
Approximately 60 celebrities attended the event and came out to honor the awardees and take a stand against domestic and gun violence. Among those in attendance were Darrin Dewitt Henson, LisaRaye McCoy, Kim Cole, Kut Klose, NLE Choppa, Doug E. Fresh, Pressure, Keith Robinson, LilG, Miguel A Nunez Jr, Arrington Foster Clifton Powell, Kem, among others.
